Project: “Development and promotion of “green” tourist packages and enterprises network in the cross-border area” (Acronym: GREEN HOLIDAYS)

First meeting of the partners

The first project meeting was held on May 25, 2011 in Komotini, Greece. Regional Development Agency of Rodopi SA hosted the initiative. The event was attended by representatives of all project partners from Bulgaria and Greece.

During the meeting the current and future tasks of the partners in accordance with the planned schedule of activities were discussed. Issues of preparation of the schedule for conducting tenders by each partner and other organizational matters were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting the partners decided the next meeting to be held in Bulgaria hosted by RMA “Maritza”.

Second meeting of partners

Bulgarian and Greek partners in the project “Green holidays” were pleased to greet each other with successful joint activities

Today, March 15th, 2012 Mineralni bani hosted a partnership meeting of the teams that developed and implemented successfully for nearly a year the joint project «Green Holidays», financed by European Territorial Cooperation Programme Greece – Bulgaria 2007-2013.

The Bulgarian side was represented by the project teams of RMA “Maritza” and Tourist Foundation Fund “Pirin”. The Greek side attended by representatives of the Regional Development Agency of Rodopi SA and NGO Dimossineteristiki of Evros.

During the meeting the partners discussed the current issues and details of the joint organizational activities of the project as well as future joint initiatives.

The partners from the Bulgarian-Greek border region congratulated themselves with the successful implementation of collaborative ideas and drew up a plan for future events included in the project activities.

Third meeting of partners

On November 9, 2012 the Project Manager and the Coordinator on GREEN HOLIDAYS project from RMA “Maritza”, acting as a partner in the project, participated in the third meeting of partners held in Alexandroupolis, Greece. During the initiative the progress of each of the partners of Bulgaria and Greece, and the planning of future tasks was discussed. In view of the effective implementation of project activities following decisions were taken at the meeting:
– Preparing a request to the Joint Technical Secretariat in connection with the need to change the schedule and extending the project by 3 months;
– Preparing a request to the Joint Technical Secretariat in connection with the need to involve partners in a big Greek tourism exhibition in another country other than Greece or Bulgaria;
– Dimosineteristiki Evros should prepare at the earliest design of all promotional materials and send them to other partners for printing;
– all partners should move the closure of tenders.

Fourth meeting of the partners

On March 27, 2013 the Project Manager and the Coordinator on GREEN HOLIDAYS from RMA “Maritza”, acting as a partner in the project, participated in the fourth meeting of partners held in Teshovo, Gotse Delchev.

According to the agenda, each partner presented its progress. The project website www.projectgreenholidays.eu and the need to get on the latest information from each partner was discussed. Partners discussed some difficulties in recruiting members in the network GREEN HOLIDAYS, as well as expectations for approval of the requested extension of the project in view of the participation of the Greek partners in tourism fair in Athens from 12-14 April 2013. The participants at the meeting commented on the requirements for project completion, the opportunities to ensure sustainability of the results and the plan future joint activities.
In order to achieve efficiency in action the following decisions were taken:
– To carry out communication with the Joint Technical Secretariat in connection with the request for change;
– Greek partners should plan the completion remaining activities;
– All partners should verify costs;
– All partners should send the Lead Partner their progress reports together with the verification documents up to 15/04/2013.

 

GREEN HOLIDAYS EXPO in Haskovo

On February 6, 2013 local promotional event titled GREEN HOLIDAYS EXPO was held in Haskovo . The initiative is part of the GREEN HOLIDAYS project, funded under the European Territorial Cooperation “Greece-Bulgaria 2007-2013”.

The purpose of the event was to meet all stakeholders in the development of tourism in the region Haskovo and Kardzhali and to promote among them the concept of “green tourism” and the establishment of Green Holidays network.
The initiative involved more than 40 people – representatives of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, travel agencies and tourist information centers, municipalities, media and visitors.
Within the 1-day event the participants were presented the requirements for inclusion of members in the network GREEN Holidays and cooperation possibilities.

GREEN HOLIDAYS Network was presented to the International Tourism Fair HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO

In the period from 14 – 16 February 2013 RMA “Maritza” participated in the International tourism fair, which was held in Sofia. The initiative is part of the GREEN HOLIDAYS project, funded under the European Territorial Cooperation “Greece-Bulgaria 2007-2013”.

The purpose of participation in the exhibition was to promote a wider base network Green Holidays and the concept of “green tourism” to make useful business contacts in the tourism industry, and to promote the regions of Haskovo and Kardzhali as attractive tourist destinations.
