The subject of the seminar was: \u201cProject development under the EU Structural funds and financing local and regional initiatives\u201d, under the project\u00a0<strong>\u201cMobilizing the resources for sustainable regional and local development in the context of EU integration\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong>The project is funded by PHARE Programme, 2004, Civil Society Development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The objective of this seminar was to introduce European policies, financial tools and the requirements for funding local and regional initiatives as well as the regulation for absorption of funds by EU Structural and Cohesion fund.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">40 people took part in the initiative- representatives of RMA \u201cMaritza\u201d member municipalities, representatives of Haskovo and Kardzhali Regional Administrations, NGOs and journalists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the period of 19-23\u00a0November\u00a02007\u00a0Regional\u00a0MunicipalitiesAssociation\u00a0\u201cMaritza\u201d\u00a0organized\u00a0a\u00a0Practice\u00a0course\u00a0for\u00a0projects development under the EU Structural funds concerning for the four smallest municipalities in Haskovo region \u2013 Stambolovo, Mineralni bani, Simeonovgrad and Madzharovo.The\u00a0initiative\u00a0was\u00a0realized\u00a0under\u00a0the\u00a0project\u00a0\u201cMobilizing\u00a0the\u00a0Resources\u00a0forSustainable\u00a0Regional\u00a0and\u00a0Local\u00a0Development\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Context\u00a0of\u00a0EU\u00a0Integration\u201d,which\u00a0has been implemented\u00a0by\u00a0RMA\u00a0\u201cMaritza\u201d.\u00a0The project is financed by 2004 PHARE Programme, Civil Society Development,\u00a0BG\u00a02004\/016-711.01.01\/.For the implementation of the course an international expert from\u00a0Scotland\u00a0and a lecturer from\u00a0Bulgaria\u00a0were engaged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0During the Practice course the following initiatives were carried out:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a01\/ 4\u00a0Preparation\u00a0meetings\u00a0between\u00a0the\u00a0leaderships of the\u00a0four\u00a0target municipalities\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0international\u00a0expert\u00a0Chris\u00a0Harris.\u00a0During the meetings the Project Leader, the Assistant and the international expert discussed with the Mayors of the municipalities project ideas which to be developed during the Practice course. Several project ideas were discussed from which the following were selected for each municipality:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stambolovo\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013 \u201eConstruction of irrigation fields in\u00a0StambolovoMunicipality\u00a0, Haskovo region\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mineralni\u00a0bani\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0\u201cRepair works of pumping station \u201cShturkelite\u201d and reconstruction of a water-main, connecting the PS and Mineralni bani\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simeonovgrad\u00a0Municipallity\u00a0\u2013 \u201eOverhaul and asphalt works of road\u00a0V55038\u201d, Tenevo village \u2013\u00a0Galabovo\u00a0Municipality<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madzharovo\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013 \u201eRehabilitation\u00a0of\u00a0municipal\u00a0road, \u0406V-class road network, connecting Dolni Glavanak village with the villages of Efrem and Borislavtsi\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The meetings were implemented on the following dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stambolovo\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0November, 19, 2007<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mineralni\u00a0bani\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0November,\u00a019,\u00a02007<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simeonovgrad\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0November,\u00a020,\u00a02007<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Madzharovo\u00a0Municipality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0November,\u00a020,\u00a02007<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a02\/\u00a01\u00a0Practice\u00a0course\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0period\u00a0November,\u00a021-23,\u00a02007. 19 participants \u2013 representatives of the four smallest municipalities in the region \u2013 Mineralni bani, Stambolovo, Simeonovgrad and Madzharovo and employees from RMA \u201cMaritza\u201d,\u00a0tookpart in\u00a0the\u00a0initiative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the first day of the course the participants were\u00a0introduced to the requirements for projects development under the EU Structural funds, Operational programmes in\u00a0Bulgaria\u00a0, advantages and opportunities for partnership development, various project samples from EU member states,\u00a0similar to those that were determined during the preparation meetings with the Mayors of the four municipalities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During\u00a0the\u00a0second\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0third\u00a0day\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Practice\u00a0course, the\u00a0participants\u00a0were\u00a0givenexpert\u00a0and\u00a0technical\u00a0assistance,\u00a0concerning the development of the projects, selected during the preparation meetings with the Mayors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of the Practice course Stambolovo, Mineralni bani, Simeonovgrad and Madzharovo municipalities developed four projects eligible under the EU Structural funds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170\" src=\"http:\/\/maritza.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/europeen-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"61\" height=\"50\" \/><em class=\"tah11\">This project is financed by the EU\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/th>\n<th>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-171\" src=\"http:\/\/maritza.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/logo-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"53\" height=\"50\" \/> <em style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">This project is implemented by RMA&#8221;Maritza&#8221;\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>This document is issued with EU financial support.
