{"id":1740,"date":"2019-03-10T14:25:46","date_gmt":"2019-03-10T12:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maritza.escom.bg\/?p=1740"},"modified":"2019-03-30T00:19:07","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T22:19:07","slug":"%d0%b5%d0%b2%d1%80%d0%be%d1%80%d0%b5%d0%b3%d0%b8%d0%be%d0%bd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritza.info\/en\/2019\/03\/10\/%d0%b5%d0%b2%d1%80%d0%be%d1%80%d0%b5%d0%b3%d0%b8%d0%be%d0%bd\/","title":{"rendered":"Euroregion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><strong>EVROS \u2013 MARITZA &#8211; MERICH<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">On June 9th 2001 the chairmen of the two Border Unions \u2013 Alliance for border initiatives \u201cMaritza\u201d (Bulgaria) and the Unoin of the border region \u201cEvros\u201d (Greece) signed an agreement for the establishment of the Euroregion \u201cMaritza \u2013 Evros\u201d. Later on October 6th 2001 the members of the Border union of the Republic of Turkey \u2013 \u201cMerich\u201d joined the Euroregion. Thus the Euroregion \u201cEvros \u2013 Maritza \u2013 Merich\u201d was written in the register of the Association of the European border regions.<br \/>\nThe goal of the members of the three border regions is to realize the cooperation between the three countries at all levels and to enhance the role of the crossborder cooperation as a tool of practical implementation of the four fundamental principles of the European Union \u2013 free transfer of products, people, capital and technological know-how.<br \/>\nThe activities, planned in the framework of the cross-border cooperation aim at further developing and improving the cultural, social, trade and economic relations between the three members of the Cross-border Union through implementation of joint Programs, regarding the present borders and the national sovereignity, as well as the administrative and economic autonomy of the three countries.<br \/>\nThe Trans-regional, Cross-border Union \u201cEvros-Maritza-Merich\u201d is governed by a joint office of the three presidents from the Unoin of the border region \u201cEvros\u201d, Alliance for border initiatives \u201cMaritza\u201d (Bulgaria) and the Border union of the Republic of Turkey \u2013 \u201cMerich\u201d.<br \/>\nThe target subjects of the Cross-border Union, determined in the Agreement for its establishment are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economic cooperation;<\/li>\n<li>Urban and rural development;<\/li>\n<li>Infrastructure and communications<\/li>\n<li>Environment \u2013 Energy;<\/li>\n<li>Culture \u2013 Tourism \u2013 Sport;<\/li>\n<li>Youth \u2013 Education \u2013 Employment;<\/li>\n<li>Health and welfare;<\/li>\n<li>Mutual aid in dealing with special and unexpected situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"justify\">Joint Special Workshops J.S.W., dealing with each subject are established.
