EVENTS
- A business meeting under the project “Haskovo and Evros business- together in Europe ”, was implemented on 7 February 2007 in the Regional Administration “Rhodopi- Evros”, Komotini – Greece.The objective of the meeting was to form a team which will effectively implement project activities and will reach the expected results. Regional Governors of Haskovo and Evros- Ms. Yovcheva and Mr. Minopolus, the Leader of the project – Ms. Velikova and the Greek Coordinator of the project- Mr. Arseniu, took part in the meeting.
- A business meeting of the Project Executive Committee was implemented on 2 May 2007 in Alexandroupolis. The objective of the meeting was to be presented the achieved results and to be fixed tasks for the next period. The following people took part in this meeting: Margarita Velikova- Leader of the project; Spiridon Arseniu- Greek Coordinator of the project; International Partnerships Coordinator; Training and Qualifications Coordinator; Promotion, Publishing and Communications Coordinator and the Accountant of the project. One of the Greek experts, responsible for Activity 2- “Study and Analysis Activities”, also took part in the meeting.
Seminar: “EU Technical Requirements and Standards”
On 26and 27 July 2007, RMA “Maritza” organized a Bulgarian-Greek seminar in Haskovo on subject: “EU Technical Requirements and Standards”. This was the first seminar under the project “Haskovo and Evros Business-together in Europe ”, financed by PHARE Cross-Border Co-operation Programme Bulgaria- Greece 2004.
The objective of the seminar was to contribute to beneficiaries’ information increase about EU technical requirements and the positive practices of their implementation; experience exchange between the business from both sides of the border; establishment of cross-border partnerships.
Business representatives, representatives of the local and regional authorities, NGO’s, journalists from the region, and business representatives from Evros took part in the initiative.
Seminar: “Trade aspects of accession. Public- Private Partnership- opportunities and best practices”
On 23 and 24 August 2007 RMA “Maritza” organized a Bulgarian-Greek seminar in haskovo on subject: “Trade aspects of accession. Public-Private Partnership – opportunities and best practices”. This was the second seminar under the project “Haskovo and Evros Business- together in Europe ”, financed by PHARE Cross-Border Co-operation Programme Bulgaria- Greece 2004.
The objective of the seminar was to contribute to beneficiaries’ information increase about the trade aspects of accession to EU, the benefits and the best practices of the implementation of PPP’s; experience exchange and establishment of cross-border partnerships.
Business representatives from Evros and Haskovo, representatives of the local and regional authorities and NGOs took part in the seminar.
Final Forum
RMA “Maritza” organized Bulgarian-Greek Final forum in “Maritza” hall in Regional Administration Haskovo on 22 November 2007. The initiative is implemented on the project “Haskovo and Evros Business – Together in Europe” with the financial support of PHARE Cross-border Cooperation programme Bulgaria – Greece 2004. The forum is the final stage of the project, which has been implemented during the period of December 2006 – November 2007.
47 people participated in the forum – representatives of the business from Haskovo region, Bulgaria and Evros region, Greece , and representatives of the local authorities and NGOs that work in the field of the business development in both countries.
Within the framework of the initiative the Project leader – Margarita Atanasova, presented the project’s stages of implementation and the achieved results. The Greek Coordinator on the project – Spiridon Arseniu, presented the achieved results from the partnership with RMA “Maritza” and he presented also the instruments for financing by the EU and the future cooperation between the two border regions Haskovo , Bulgaria and Evros Greece . In the end of the forum all participants in the training activities of the project “Haskovo and Evros Business – Together in Europe” were given certificates by Prof. Bozhana Nedelcheva – Deputy Director of the Institute for Postgraduate Qualification – Sofia and Director of the Certification Institute of Municipal Clerks for Central and Eastern Europe .
