Municipality of Simeonovgrad

Simeonovgrad municipality is located in the northeastern part of the Haskovo region and occupies a territory of 221,09 sq. km. Within the boundaries of the settlement system Simeonovgrad fall 9 settlements – Simeonovgrad and 8 villages. The municipality borders with the municipalities: Galabovo, Opan, Harmanli, Haskovo and Dimitrovgrad.

Simeonovgrad Municipality is a traditional agricultural area. On the territory of the municipality are grown vegetables, fruits, technical crops. Extremely favorable soil and climatic conditions exist for the creation of vineyards. There are good conditions for growing grain and cereal – fodder crops in the region. Simeonovgrad, like neighboring municipalities – Harmanli and Lyubimets is a traditional producer of watermelons and melons.

In the municipality there are also industrial enterprises, but the sector is less developed.
